Artificial Intelligence: Way of the Future

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence of machines and a branch of Computer Science, which aims to create it. I find artificial intelligence very interesting not just because am a Computer Science major but also because of the possible futures that can come about with the development of AI. Looking at robots, they are extremely stupid. When programming a robot to perform a certain task, the programmer has to be extremely detailed in the instructions so that there will be no margin of error that the robot could misunderstand. It is because of this “stupidity” that artificial intelligence is very interesting. By developing artificial intelligence, robots will not only be able to perform tasks correctly but they will be able to also learn. Learn to deal with new situations but more importantly how to deal with them correctly.

Robots in the past have been used to perform repetitive and menial tasks (such as in factories). Thanks to the development in artificial intelligence, robots are coming out of the factories and joining the rest of the world. Robots are becoming smaller (compared to their old factory relatives) and even more human-like. Performing human tasks and humans perform them. It is truly an exciting time for the advancement in AI.

  1. Indeed, robots have incorporated artificial intelligence interaction with laser, ultrasound, MRI scanning, and performed delicate brain surgery more accurately than by traditional surgical approaches. Researchers are focusing on building robot act like human because they are interested in human intelligence and fascinated by trying to copy it. As a result, they will take over jobs from clerical, middle managers and so on. We will be eventually left with machines working at every store. We can see that the possibilities for artificial intelligence are endless.

  2. Hi Jonatan, it is interesting reading your post. I totally agree with you that robots are stupid. Therefore, they still cannot replace humans completely unless they could think like humans. In my opinion, AI has many applications in life such video game AI and super data analyzers, not just robots. However, I do believe that AIs would make our lives so much better in the future. Anyways, you have done a good job. Keep it up.

  3. Hi Jonaton,
Your post focuses on Artificial Intelligence for robots only. Artificial Intelligence encompasses a larger area. However the material that you have written about is accurate as well as to the point. I agree with you on the point that robots today are “Stupid” and that they presently do not have the ability to feel or perceive and consequently have a long way before they can walk talk and interact like humans. Since this is my first time visiting your blog allow me to complement you on your blog background and the overall setup. Overall a well written blog post.
