To say that LinkedIn is a useful tool would be an understatement. With today's numerous social networks available it is hard to say which one is best; however, it comes down to what is your purpose for joining the social network. For expanding and maintaining your professional network: LinkedIn is among your best choices. As Judi Light Hopson explains on her article, LinkedIn provides you with a simple and fast way to not only create your personal brand but also distribute it far and wide.

LinkedIn provides you a localize place to assemble all your professional information; such as your skills, professional achievements, education and working history (to name a few). LinkedIn uses your information to facilitate potential employers to find you and vise versa: LinkedIn can provide you with posted positions who's requirement match your skills set.

As a social network, LinkedIn allows you to connect with new and old acquaintances (professional acquaintances). These types of connections are invaluable because they can become your references or even provide you with a shot at a position within the company they work at before it is open to the public.

As a whole, LinkedIn is a great tool to propel yourself forward in your career.

I Love LinkedIn and you should, too!

  1. Hi Jonatan
I enjoyed reading your blog; it is very interested for what people should know about LinkedIn, especially for student like us. I can see that LinkedIn has the potential to be extremely helpful and people are outraged that LinkedIn is opening the doors to us to choose a career and begin a resume. Having a LinkedIn profile is always a good way to boost professional credentials.
Aside from job searching, endorsing colleagues, joining interactive groups and contributing to posts, the professional social networking site has evolved into much more. LinkedIn has become a term that many well-seasoned professionals use while networking.
We can hope that we can take advantage of this to pursue college ambitions and not get too ahead of ourselves.
